"Happy Ending" by Douglas Turner Ward

The Anacostia Playhouse, in collaboration with All About the Drama Theater Group, presented “Happy Ending”, a satirical comedy by Douglas Turner Ward. The play followed two sisters, Ellie and Vi, who work as maid and laundress for the wealthy Harrison family. When the Harrisons’ marriage falls apart due to infidelity, the sisters fear losing not only their jobs but also the financial perks they’ve secretly enjoyed for years. The story humorously explores their true motives behind their distress.
